Mobile Phones - Good Or Bad?

Today four primary seven children, Mrs Tonner and Mrs Rose went on the train to Glasgow to the SECC. Olivia, Jenna, Ronan and Rory were helping Mrs Tonner with her presentation about mobile phones in education. We wanted to show how they could be used constructively. At the end of the talk we invited our guests to ask us a question about mobile phones using their phones. On our way home we hope to use Mrs Tonner's phone to look at the blog and answer their questions. Let's hope they are not too tricky!

Ted Bear's Adventures With Mark Beaumont

Ted Bear is getting ready to travel to Iran to meet Mark Beaumont. On Sunday 5th August 2007, Mark Beaumont cycled out of Paris on a solo attempt to break the 18,000 mile World Record to become the fastest person to have ever circumnavigated the globe by bicycle. Ted Bear has packed his case ready to meet Mark in Iran. Each week Ted will tell everyone a little bit about his adventures with Mark with a little help from the children at The High School of Dundee's Junior School.

Movie Madness

Movie time and the first batch of primary 6 movies are wining there way to the world. First to get their is 'Under The Sea'.

Muhammed looks after Brunel

Brunel came to stay with me for a few days. We did lots of things together. The weather was great so we spent time outside in the garden on swing, the slide and the trampoline. After that we had tea and then played tig with me sister Aamira. Brunel played fairly and we all had fun. Before bedtime he had a turn on my PS2. It was a wrestling game and he did well for a beginner. In my house Brunel liked to sit on the red leather sofa!

Brunel goes to Piperdam for a swim!

When Brunel came to stay he had a healthy breakfast! It was one of my favourites – banana sandwich. We went to Piperdam for the day. It is a Country Club very near me and we go quite often. There is a big swimming pool there and Brunel had a dip but he preferred to lie on the sunbeds beside the pool. He looks very relaxed with his sunglasses on! When we came home Brunel and I went out to play in my garden. He was very good on the monkey bars because he is a bit of a monkey!

Non Uniform Day

On Tuesday 1st May the Junior and Senior School held a non uniform day in aid of
Leukaemia Research. The total raised was £2200. Well done everyone.

Easter Time

The Easter holidays are just about started and the children are very excited. This morning we had our curch service at St Andrew's Parish Church led by Mr Petrie. The primary 4/5 choir sang 'Something To Sing About' expertly. Rory and Alice from primary 6 delivered their readings with confidence.

This is the first time the Junior children have visited St Andrew's Parish Church. Here is a little history about the church:

• It was completed in 1774;
• The spire rises to 139 feet;
• There is a splendid west tower with a classical steeple;
• The clock now in St Andrew’s steeple was made by James Ivory, Dundee.

Have a wonderful holiday boys and girls and don't eat too many Easter eggs.

Back On Home Land

It is 5.07 pm and we have just arrived back in England. The journey through France was bearable with various entertainment in the form of music and DVDs. Have to say that it did not live up to our entertainment yesterday where various dedications were given in various formats like opera stlye. Each teacher on coach 2 delighted the children with their unique approach to each dedication. The children obviously recognised the wealth of talent on their coach that they requested a bus idol to which the teachers glady accepted. The competition was tough with each teacher singing two numbers. Mr Jack was the outright winner though mainly on sympathy votes!!Requests for another bus idol were given but Mr Jack is now in retirement.



Today we stopped tr Calais shopping centre where everyone managed to find something to spend their money on. In a short time we plan to stop for tea then it is the long journey home

PS - the DVDs on coach 2 disappeared this morning and were found on coach 1 Apparently a revenge move by staff for their missing tablet!!!
